QA Manager Duties & Responsibilities
Maintain the electronic product specification sheets, Technical Bulletins, applications, and recipe files. Work with the Production Department to make the specification sheets user-friendly and standards complaint.
• Develop the nutritional and ancillary documentations for all new products after assigning an item number using the Item Master Change request.• Maintain accurate and up-to-date electronic files of all nutritional data, formulations, and ingredient data for all products.
• Maintain files on all ingredient, packaging and finished good specifications while developing new ones, as needed.• Keep current with regulatory and technologic changes that may affect regulatory compliance of food safety laws within the food industry.
• Maintain professional contacts with peers in the industry, trade associations, and government agencies.• Keep current with engineering and process technologies for support of Operations and Maintenance Management.• Provide Sales & Marketing support, as needed.
• Help in targeting areas, supporting information, and providing creative thought and input based on a wide knowledge database.• Provide leadership as the main technical resource for corporate requirements and manufacturing staff as it relates to customer/regulatory requirements for food processing including, but not limited to, first, second- and third-party auditing and inspection, laboratory GLP’s (i.e. analytical testing protocols and methodologies), personnel safety, GMP compliance, and crisis management.
• Provide studies and know how, as needed, and in support of all departments from efficiencies to brainstorming projects to problem solving.• Demonstrate competency in project planning, execution, and timing through project evaluation and use of resources available. To efficiently shorten the time for the product approval process, from supply chain prerequisites to final development.
Education & Experience
3-5 years of QA supervisor or manager experience
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in Food Science, Packaging Science or related fields.
